Note that Amazon Link Engine provides localization service for “free”. However, you cannot add your tags to your Amazon links in the free version. If you are an affiliate interested in making money from your visitor traffic, the “free” version is not for you. Thus this feature comparison does not consider the free version of Amazon Link Engine.
The bit on “making them more money” is incorrect and misleading.
Genius Link will only add their affiliate ID if you do not have an affiliate ID set up for the storefront your link sends a shopper to.
If you’ve uploaded your affiliate IDs, they don’t touch your commissions whatsoever, and if you don’t have an ID for that storefront, you wouldn’t have made that commission anyways.
And they “instantly localize” links just like you do. You should update this.
Your understanding is incorrect.
You need to register to their website before you are allowed to add your tags. If you install the plugin first, and don register to their website, they will strip away all existing tags and add their own tags (or atleast that’s what used to happen at the time of this post publication)
This is from their own plugin description: As you can see clearly, registering on their website is a must. Else, all international traffic uses their tags.

HOW DO I EARN INTERNATIONAL COMMISSIONS FROM MY LINKS?
To earn international affiliate commissions, you must create a Geniuslink account, and connect it to your plugin with your API keys (detailed instructions can be found in the FAQ).
Once signed up, add and manage your Associates IDs for each of the Amazon affiliate programs you’ve signed up for within the Geniuslink Dashboard. Once your IDs are added, the Amazon Link Engine will automatically add the correct Associates ID per country for each click.
