Here’s the truth – in link redirection, speed matters. If the link redirection takes an extra second or so, a good chunk of your prospective customers will press the back button, or worse go to another site.
So, we designed BestAzon to put speed the front and center of the product. On an average, the time one clicks a Amazon link on a website enabled by BestAzon and the time the customer is on their “local” Amazon store are less than 300 ms apart (i.e. less than 0.3 seconds). And yes, that includes all the advanced analytics and algorithms we have to process to get to the right location and the right page of the local Amazon store.. impressive? We thought so!
This is the FASTEST Amazon Link Globalization service by far, and its not by chance. Some of the things we do to make it happen:
- Serve content through edge nodes across the globe – without getting too technical (read more about it if you’d like), BestAzon serves the visitors from more than 40 edge node locations across the globe, including more than 20 in US. That means – your visitor gets the BestAzon service from a server close to them rather than making a roundtrip across the globe. This is the exact same technology Amazon stores uses for serving content across the globe – so you are in good company!
- Minimize Unnecessary Processing – You might have already noticed. BestAzon does not ask you to register anywhere, no API keys needed, no user name, no logins.. nothing. It globalizes your Amazon links simply out of box. Part of that is ofcourse we because we wanted to make a simple to use product. An equally important aspect is that every additional piece of information needs more processing (e.g. if we use your API, we need to plug it in, if we use your login name and password, we need to authenticate etc). We do not store the clicks in any database – shaving off precious milli-seconds. All of that adds up!
- Choice of technology – There is no dearth of options to write the Amazon Link Localization code. Broadly – There are server side technologies (e.g. PHP), and Client Side Technologies (e.g. Javascript) that can get the job done. We deliberately chose Client Side technology stack – that means that most of the processing is done on your visitor’s computer/mobiles and there is no round-trip needed to our edge servers for simple processing. This also allows us to more accurately decipher the location of the visitor as every additional stop on the way of traffic has potential to muddle up the geo location picture.
Perhaps more information than most of our customers will ever need. However, its good to know that you are in good hands.. eh?
